Guidelines Regarding Illness

What are the symptoms of concern?

  • Fever (100.4 degrees) or chills
  • Cough
  • Rash
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fatigue
  • Lack of appetite
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Red, itchy, watery eyes
  • Persistent earache
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat/swollen glands
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Students who have had any of the above symptoms of communicable disease, must remain home for 24 hours after resolution of signs/symptoms, without medication to resolve the symptoms, or until cleared to return by a medical provider.

Students who have taken any fever-reducing medications such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen in the past 24 hours must stay home until they are fever-free without the use of medication for 24 hours.

Students who have recently had close contact with a person with COVID-19 should monitor their health until 7-10 days after their last exposure.
